What Proof Money is

Proof Money is a self-custody crypto marketplace. You can buy and sell crypto with the payment apps you already use, swap tokens across chains, and send crypto to other wallets. We do not hold your funds or your private keys.

What we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to run the service:

• Account data: your email address and a wallet address when you sign up.
• Transaction data: on-chain transaction hashes, order details, and fee amounts so we can process trades and calculate rewards.
• Usage data: anonymous page visits and error reports to keep the app running smoothly.

What we do not collect

We never collect your payment app passwords, bank logins, or screenshots. The Proof Money Verifier browser extension reads only the single payment you choose to prove, on your own device, and returns a cryptographic proof. Your raw payment details are never uploaded to our servers.

Proof Money Verifier Chrome Extension

To help you prove a payment on the payment apps you already use without sharing your login credentials, we offer the Proof Money Verifier Chrome extension. It runs only when you start a verification from the Proof Money website.

What the extension processes

The extension processes only the information needed to confirm the specific payment you choose to verify:

• Payment confirmation information: confirmation pages, receipts, or transaction records returned by the payment platform.
• Relevant page content: limited page content from the specific payment session you are verifying.
• Payment amount and currency.
• Recipient details: username, handle, or display name.
• Transaction references: payment IDs or similar references, where applicable.

How it is used

• Data is processed only to verify user-authorized payments that you initiate.
• Passwords, payment-app login credentials, and full banking credentials are never collected.
• Cookies and session tokens are not collected for any purpose other than the immediate verification run.
• Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising, lending, or creditworthiness decisions.

Transmission, retention, and deletion

• The only data transmitted is encrypted session material sent to the Peer attestation service to produce a cryptographic verification result. That result is shared with Proof Money.
• No raw payment data is stored by the extension or retained by Proof Money after verification.
• A verification run is held in memory only while active and is discarded once it completes or the tab closes. The extension does not use browser storage such as localStorage, chrome.storage, or IndexedDB.
• Uninstalling the extension removes it and any in-memory state immediately.

Use of the information the extension processes complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use your data

We use your data only to operate Proof Money: matching buyers and sellers, processing swaps and sends, calculating PXP rewards, and improving the product. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Third-party services

We use Privy for wallet auth and embedded wallets, LI.FI for swap/bridge routing, the Peer protocol for payment verification, and standard blockchain networks to settle trades. Each of these services has their own privacy policy.

Your choices

You can export your embedded wallet at any time from your profile settings. You can also contact us to delete your account data.
